BBFult
When renters do considerable damage to a property why isn't it considered a crime? What options are there left if we can't recieve help from the police?
KarlaH
It's not considered a crime because possession is 9/10th of the law. If i loan, rent, or lease something to you and it is in your care, essentially it belongs to you until you return it by the agreed date. If the item doesn't get returned, then the only thing that is technically owed is the value of the missing tool or item.
LynnSmith
I did file a police report at one point due to damages...they took a hammer and broke through the walls, plugged the sink and tb and let the water run..however police told me I had no proof it was the tenant.....soooo....no action by police. SLopez
I walk up to a car and smash the windshield. Its a crime. If tenants smash and steal my appliances. Its no crime.
Victor
Lynn, What do you feel caused the tenants to want to cause such damage to your property?
